This seminar is presented by Prof. Yin Zhiguang of Fudan University, who is known for his insights into China’s role the Global South. In this lecture, Prof. Yin reviewed how colonialism, followed by neoliberal globalization, shaped the Global South, resulting in growth without development and structural dependence on Western countries. He also addressed the sensitive question of whether China belongs to the Global South community, and examined the continuing relevance of the spirit of the Bandung Conference for countries in the Global South.
