This is a crash course on the role that the financial system played in Chinese history, from the Song Dynasty (960–1279) when China was then the world's largest economy to present day debates on RMB internationalization. It projects upon today a geopolitical framework for assessing the impact of China’s rise on global financial systems and what it means for the US dollar.
