HSK Introduction
HSK is the most popular and widely applied Chinese language proficiency test.
HSK assesses Chinese learners' abilities to use Chinese as a second language in their daily, academic, and professional lives through a standardized examination and evaluation with a uniform grading and scoring system.
HSK is the world' s third-largest language test brand after IELTS and TOEFL. Requirements
Self-study online for at least 36 hours (HSK1&2) or 30 hours (YCT1&2).
Produce the spoken and written texts in each section.
Complete the mid-course test.
Pass at least 1 HSK Mock test for your level.
Certificate
When you have satisfied the requirements above, select the test results you would
like to include and submit your records for review.
Receive your official HSK or YCT certificate by email.

What you learn
All the prescribed vocabulary for HSK or YCT Levels 1 and 2 tests.

The Pinyin system of writing out the sounds of Chinese phonetically,
so that you can type characters on a phone or computer.

How it works
There are two Pathways through the course so that you can
Focus separately on your spoken and written Chinese.
The pathways are divided into Sections, each with a theme and objectives.
The goal of each Section is for you to say or write a “text” in Chinese.
Build up to each “text” one simple step at a time by:
Picking up a new character
Using it to unlock multi-character words
Putting those words into sentences
There are also explanations of sentence patterns to help you.
Along the way
You must complete the starred items on each Pathway.
The others are bonus material.
Halfway through there is a compulsory mid-course test, so that you can see how you are doing.
There is also an optional test at the end of the course if you’d like it.
In each section, there are additional auto-generated and teacher-made exercises if you wish to do extra practice –flashcards, pairs
matching, true/false, printable character-tracing sheets etc.
You have up to a year to get to the summit, and pass at least one test at HSK Mock.
At the top
When you reach the summit, you have covered all the material you may be tested on.
Hop over to hskmock.com (or the HSK Mock mobile app) and take an official HSK or YCT practice test on your computer or phone.
When you have passed at least one test, go back to your Certified Course dashboard to select the test results you are most proud of and submit your records for review.
Assuming everything is in order, your HSK or YCT certificate from Chinese Testing International will be emailed to you within a few days.
